Investment Options

AUSCOAL Super has a range of investment options to choose from, according to your needs and financial goals for retirement. A licensed financial adviser can help you choose your investments, but if you do not make a choice, your super will be invested in the Trustee Lifecycle Strategy which is the Fund's Default investment option.

The Trustee Default Lifecycle Strategy

This strategy has been designed by the Trustee to keep pace with the changing needs of a typical Fund member over their lifetime. Your super will be invested according to a pre-mixed investment strategy that is considered appropriate for your age. As you get older and progress to the next age category, the investment strategy steps down. As retirement approaches, a more conservative strategy is adopted and the Fund moves some investments into lower risk assets comprising bonds and cash; giving some protection to short-term fluctuation in growth assets. This progression is shown in the table below:-

If you do not accept the Trustee Default Lifecycle Strategy, you can choose your own investment mix. You can choose to invest in any of the four pre-mixed strategies as well as six asset-class options - Diversified Shares, Australian Shares, International Shares, Property, Bonds and Cash. You can choose any combination of the pre-mixed strategies and the asset class options as long as your total investment equals 100%.
